Here is a quick history of the Golden Throne Challenge in words, pictures, and video!

- The inaugural Golden Throne Challenge had humble beginnings.  Less than a dozen people were involved in the original grudge match which was won by the Men.  Personally, I wasn't there and have never seen pictures to document that the event actually took place, but allegedly the Men took the series lead 1-0.

- The buildup for the second Golden Throne Challenge was big!  In response to being humiliated the previous year, the students had the first overall draft selection and chose Danny Wuerfel, Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Florida, to be their QB.  Who knew Danny could play both ways?  Riding Danny's arm and a key interception on the Men's last drive of the game, the Boys sealed the victory.  (Boys tie up the series 1-1)

- The third Golden Throne Challenge was a classic ... highlighted, or low lighted by a halftime show featuring the Staff Marching Band and a rendition of the Chicken Dance by Mike Wind on the accordion!  You can actually see that halftime performance in the video below!  Oh, and the game was great too!  The Boys won their second consecutive game with Danny Wuerfel as their quarterback. You can check out the video highlight reel below!  (Boys take the series lead 2-1)

- The story has yet to be written for the fourth Golden Throne Challenge.  The men are confident, bordering on cocky this year, because Danny Wuerfel has bolted for greener pastures in Atlanta leaving some big shoes to fill for the Boys.  The Men will be practicing after church on Sunday, October 26th, after church to get their game plans together.  Will you be on the field?  Will you be part of the crowd?  Come see how the story unfolds!  Weigh in on the poll on the Left Side of this page to let us know who you think will come out on top this game!
