KenyaWe are going back to Kenya! On July 3-15, Pastor Paul & Wayne Brown will be leading a church planting trip to western Kenya.
 Following is a brief background and Q&A about some commonly asked questions.
What is this mission about?
 This is not a project to construct a church building, but a chance to "build the church" by sharing the gospel with people! We'll go mud hut to mud hut with interpreters sharing the gospel. We'll go to prison & school assemblies to share testimonies & the gospel. We'll also have open air crusades where we share testimonies & the gospel. We will give the Good News from the Bible to everyone who will listen - and boy, do they listen!
Why is this such an exciting opportunity?
Because the people of Kenya are so hungry for the Law and Gospel of the Bible. They are a living representation of what Jesus called 'the fields ripe for harvest' and now is the time to give them the truth! They will literally and genuinely trust Jesus right along the path or in their hut, not just because we are unique white people, but because God has made their hearts soft and ready. We get to capitalize on this hunger and then have a church to plug them into immediately after we leave! Every day we saw hundreds, in one on one meetings, trust Jesus alone. Many more at the nightly crusades. And we are privileged to be used to see hundreds at one time in a high school or prison trust Christ! Wow!

 Who are we working with?
Ugandan pastor Morris Ogenga and his bride Aidah felt God calling them 10 years ago to plant churches in Uganda and Kenya. In that time, with the help of American churches, have planted 70 churches. Last summer, the first Tanzanian church was also planted. Pastor Morris is associated with the Presbyterian Church and has a goal of over 70 more church plants. We come alongside them, and the seminary students from the Bible School he began in Uganda, to see God's Word spread!
How does this work?
Grace has sent funds to purchase land in Kenya already. In March through June, the concrete block church building and the pastor's home will be built (about the size and scope of our first building on Two Trees Road) by local labor. A water well will be dug, and a generator, a portable PA system and a keyboard purchased. In July our team shows up, joining forces with seminary students from Uganda and pastors from churches already planted who serve as a translators and leaders. They all give up their summer to help plant 10+ churches in multiple countries, one per week, and we serve alongside them doing hut-to-hut witnessing, nightly crusades and other ministries. We write the names and addresses (#2 hut on dirt pat off main path :) ) of each person who trusted Christ and on our last day there, a Sunday, we give the list of names to the new Pastor (one of the seminary students who just graduated) on the Church Dedication Sunday. He will be their spiritual shepherd and pastor from here on out. That is his church directory and we've done our part of building up the kingdom!
2008 was our first year participating in the church planting movement in Eastern Africa.
We teamed up with national pastor, Morris Ogenga, and Calvary Chapel Metro (Houston) to plant a church in the community of Mwaita, located in Western Kenya. We did seven days of hut to hut evangelism, open air crusades, and gospel presentations in high schools and prisons. At the end of the week, there was a church with a lasting gospel influence in the region!
