Wayne Brown

Are we defined by what we love?  If so, here's how you could define me.  I love and enjoy living for Jesus.  My bride is the bomb.com, if I can steal a line from Ross King.  My kids make me smile and cry ... sometimes at the same time.  I love Sissy, Big Buddy, Bella Babes, and Kinsey Joy!

I love caffeinated drinks, buffalo wings, and sports.  Not the same kind of love I've got for my God, my bride, or my kids.  It's an amped down kinda love, but much more than just a like!

So, welcome to "Getting to Know WB 101"

My (almost) most embarrassing moment:

I was working for a guy who installed residential windows as a college summer job.  We would start very early and the morning and usually finish up mid-day.  He would bring his boat several days/week and we'd go fishing down in the Galveston Bay.  One day we had finished fishing and brought the boat up into the harbor.  He went to get the truck and backed it down the boat ramp.  Then, we switched spots and I got in the truck to pull the boat and trailer out of the water.  It was a very nice boat and truck, so I was a little nervous.  I carefully shifted into gear and then gassed it.  Unfortunately, the gear shift was in reverse!  I didn't go too far backwards ... but I was mortified!!!  I quickly put it into drive and pulled the boat and trailer out of the water.  I'm not sure if a word was spoken on the 90 minute drive home and he never called me back again to work with him!

I'm a big fan of:

My wife.

If I have some free time, I love to:

Go on a date with Holly.  Tickle my kids until they are breathless.  Catch a Rays game on tv with my kids in our PJ's.  Walk on the beach and soak up the sun.

My God story:

Coming soon!

My vision for Grace:

That we could wrap our heads and hearts around this ... "the biggest problem you and I have isn't moral failure ... it is a failure to honor God".

If we tell people God doesn't like people that sleep around or do drugs, then people will try to refrain from those behaviors to make them presentable to God. Because we can see behaviors, we often focus on correcting behaviors instead of dealing with matters of the heart. We are in need of a regenerated heart in order to love and honor God.

Then, obedience becomes delight instead of duty.
