My (almost) most embarrassing moment:
On a cruise boat, in a relay race dance competition, I lifted Susan up onto my shoulders seeking to perform the "Titantic move" ... her arms outstretched effortlessly like she is flying above my buff muscles)! But it became the sinking of the Titantic as I dropped her and she slid down my back, crashing to the deck. Our team won anyways!
I'm a big fan of:
Preachers who take me deeper in being more like Jesus and doing the things that Jesus did, and a yearly cruise to warm ports with my bride for zip lines, dancing, and midnight chocolate buffets.
If I have some free time, I love to:
play with my kids, hang with my bride, read, and run mini-triathlons.
My God story:
Insecure and introverted, the last thing I wanted to be was a pastor like my dad. But when medicine (calculus and physics) proved to difficult, God changed my mind - and body, am I glad He did. I can do no other than "preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified!" I can do nothing without Him but I can do all things through He who strengthens me! May my continuing God story be John the Baptist's plea: He must become greater; I must become less!
My vision for Grace:
That our culture could be transformed by the Holy Spirit so everyone connected to Grace would have one over-arching passion consume us on a moment-by-moment basis: reach people personally, locally and globally with the love and power of Jesus. Since we carry His presence within us may we all be walking, talking moves of God wherever we are!
