Local Mission Opportunities

Getting Started

If you have reached this page, we believe that God is up to some exciting things in your life!  We want to partner up with you for some kingdom adventures in our own community!  Please view the video above as a starting point and then read on!

Purpose

The purpose of these missions is to provide food and other necessities along with the love and hope of Jesus to those in need within the local community.  Meeting people's physical needs puts us on the doorstep of people and provides a natural opportunity to develop relationships, pray & share the gospel with people.  This is a great opportunity for our people to be a blessing to others AND have an opportunity to grow personally by first watching others & eventually leading these encounters.

SERVE Night

Those interested in participating in SERVE night meet in the Fellowship Hall on the last Wednesday Night of each month.  Our schedule for the evening includes sharing a meal together (5:15-6 pm).  We gather for prayer @ 6pm.  After prayer, we load the food and head to our destination on the West side of Destin in the Calhoun/Siebert area.  Once we've distributed the food, we return to Grace around 7:15 pm.  If you would like more details about SERVE Night, please see the video above or email Mike.

Supper On Saturday

This mission was started by the First United Methodist Church of Niceville and has grown tremendously. We are one of several other churches of various denominations that have come alongside FUMC to participate in this worthwhile effort. The number of meals we provide has risen to over 900 and will likely climb even higher this next year.

We do this every second Saturday of the month – rain or shine. We start at the Spence-Apfel building off of John Sims Parkway in Niceville, load up the food and supplies, and then head to the neighborhood. We start loading the trucks at 12:30 PM. Here’s a map:
