Nursery

Your little on is a precious gift from God!

GraceDestin strives to be a family-friendly church so that family members of every age know how very important they are to their Heavenly Father and to the church.  We desire that your child's first experience with God's house is marked by love and security.  That is why we see the nursery as a vital ministry and hope that it frees you up to experience God in worship and/or Bible study in a meaningful way.

To accomplish this, we have established some guidelines with your child first in mind!

AGE

Children birth through 4 years are welcome in our nursery!

BEEPERS

When you bring your child to the nursery, we ask that you first check in with a nursery worker.  Your child will get a name tag and you will receive a beeper.  If at any time during your child's stay in the nursery your attention is needed, the beeper will vibrate to alert you to come.  (Because the beeper does not make noise, we suggest you keep it close to your body!)  When you are ready to pick up your child, you will need to return the beeper to the nursery staff.  No children will be released without the beeper being returned.  This is for the safety of your child.  No one but you will have the matching beeper number for him or her.

HEALTH

For the health of all the children, we ask that if your child has a runny nose, eye discharge, fever, active cough, vomiting, diarrhea or any contagious illness in the last 24 hours, that you refrain from bringing him or her into the nursery.  We like to share lots of love and joy, but not the bugs!

CAREGIVERS

There are two nursery staff workers present at all times.  These workers are teamed up with authorized volunteers each week so that there is always at least three adults providing care for the children.

The nursery is an ongoing ministry and requires many people to make it work.  Because many parents enjoy the benefits of this important ministry, we ask that they give back into the ministry periodically with their time.  Parents who use the nursery regularly are asked to sign up for a rotation (only once every few months).  Requests can be made for Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings; otherwise the schedule will be filled according to the needs.  Parents are instructed in the nursery procedures so that safe and consistent care is given.

DIAPERS

For a happy camper, it is best to begin your child's stay in the nursery with a clean diaper!  However, diapers will be changed as needed unless you request otherwise.

ACTIVITIES

Of course, our nursery is filled with toys for children of different ages.  We also have Christian based videos, books, and Bible stories.  Occasionally there will be a craft opportunity for the older kids.  Snacks such as vanilla wafers and goldfish are provided.  Please alert nursery personnel to any allergies or if you do not wish your child to have snacks!
