Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a developing country and, as is the case in developing countries, there is an uneven distribution of wealth and a high rate of crime in urban settings.  The inner city situation exasperates these problems and this affects children significantly.

GraceDestin works alongside a camp that purposes to lead children, ages 7 to 11, to salvation through Jesus Christ in a camp atmosphere.

The primary area of focus is the "shantytown" children of San Jose and Esparza.  The opportunity is to bring these children into a completely different environment - away from the "urban jungle" and into a world that is both beautiful and educational.  Allowing the children to enjoy Christian activities as well as participating in hands-on learning builds a sense of hope that is absent in their current situations.

GraceDestin's involvement with the camp are varied and include the following:

Service-related acitivites

  • Building-related projects
  • General Maintenance projects
  • Water-system projects
  • Grounds and landscaping projects
Camp-related activities
  • Prayer, Praise & Worship
  • Crafts
  • Games & Sports
  • Life Skills Educations
  • Puppets & Drama
  • Nature/Agri Education
This mission is an enabling mission and is supported financially and through the sending of teams.
